Zaanstad takes the next step with their 3D digital twin. In April we reported on the start of this project in which we set up the 3D environment of the municipality of Zaanstad. Today we delivered that environment.
The municipality can now work independently with a 3D viewer, which is equipped with functions such as a shadow analysis, a planner with which various 3D models can be loaded and drawn, an export option and many more innovative tools. They have already looked at the visibility analysis and measuring the height profile with the test viewer. Both functions from which the municipality will benefit greatly.
The municipality of Zaanstad is the first to use our new Virtual City Map 5.0. We are very enthusiastic about the possibilities that this new viewer offers.
To encourage use, the 3D environment has been made available to all employees of the municipality of Zaanstad. First the geo department will use the viewer and practice with it and then it will be distributed further within the organization. We will of course remain ready to provide support where necessary to ensure optimal use.
